>> Clare: Have you ever wondered what makes an Early Years setting truly
Speaker:special? Welcome to Atelier Talks,
Speaker:the Early Years Collective.
Speaker:This is a brand new podcast lifting the lid on what it really
Speaker:takes to deliver, an award winning Early Years setting.
Speaker:We want to share our expertise, we want to share our
Speaker:confidence, we want to be able to support
Speaker:people in anything they want to
Speaker:achieve. Because actually we're not saying that what we do is the
Speaker:right way, we're saying it's the way that works for us.
Speaker:This year is brought to you by the team behind Atelier
Speaker:Nursery. That's me, Clare and my brilliant
Speaker:leadership team colleagues Beth, Lauren and Laura.
Speaker:>> Laura/Beth/Lauren: Hello.
Speaker:>> Clare: Together we run two thriving, award winning family
Speaker:run nurseries in Bath and Tippenham.
Speaker:>> Laura: When you walk through the doors of our nursery, we don't have
Speaker:age based rooms, we don't have staff that are
Speaker:only working with the babies, or staff that only work with our
Speaker:preschoolers. All of our children can access all of
Speaker:the space, all of the time. Regardless of their age. Children
Speaker:come to learn in their way,
Speaker:facilitated by really clever
Speaker:educators.
Speaker:>> Clare: Here at Atelier we stand on the shoulders of many
Speaker:giants. Our approach is rooted in research influenced by
Speaker:the Reggio Emilia and Froebelian principles and shaped by our
Speaker:belief that young children deserve the very best.
Speaker:We believe that there's more to earlier's education than
Speaker:Pinteresty paintings and a one size fits
Speaker:all tick box planning approach. It's all about
Speaker:creating enabling environments rooted in research
Speaker:that inspire children to explore, create and
Speaker:thrive.
Speaker:>> Beth: For anybody that is used to a traditional
Speaker:setup nursery with your separate room and
Speaker:kind of that non free flow aspect, I
Speaker:think when you're talking about it, they probably just feel like
Speaker:it's going to be absolute chaos. There's
Speaker:toys everywhere but actually
Speaker:every day I go into that nursery, everybody
Speaker:is so busy, so engaged. It's really
Speaker:purposeful.
Speaker:>> Lauren: It's free flow, not free for all.
Speaker:>> Beth: Yeah.
Speaker:>> Clare: This podcast, is for nursery owners, managers, m
Speaker:educators, practitioners, leaders and parents.
Speaker:Essentially anyone passionate about making a positive difference
Speaker:in the early years sector. We'll be bringing you plenty
Speaker:of honest conversations and practical insights based on our own
Speaker:research led setting, sharing our day to day
Speaker:practises, sharing an insight of what makes our
Speaker:setting so special.
Speaker:>> Laura: We're going to be honest, we're going.
Speaker:>> Clare: To be very real.
Speaker:>> Laura: Yeah, real because we are people who work in the
Speaker:sector day in, day out. We're still working in the
Speaker:nurseries. So we are on the front line.
Speaker:>> Clare: I think that's really exciting I
Speaker:think to have something that's for educators,
Speaker:for nursery owners by educators in finances.
Speaker:I think is really interesting because actually it is
Speaker:about sharing but also opening up that
Speaker:discussion what it can be.
Speaker:>> Laura: I can picture a bit of like a sledgehammer and
Speaker:we're like breaking down barriers and we're just
Speaker:thinking we're just a bit.
Speaker:>> Clare: During our podcast we'll be talking about everything atelier,
Speaker:from our mixed age key families to how we spark
Speaker:children's curiosity through our project led learning, how
Speaker:the Frobilian and Reggio influences that shape
Speaker:our work really take place and what they look
Speaker:like in practise, essentially all the
Speaker:individual ingredients that create what we call the
Speaker:magic of atelier. We're really giving you the insider
Speaker:access to our two award winning outstanding nursery
Speaker:settings to help you on your own journey to
Speaker:creating a truly special learning environment.
